SERVICES AND ACCESS
An account on The River provides:

Conferencing (via Yapp and Yapp Web).
E-mail (yourname@river.org), with a POP3 server that you can use with, for example, Eudora, Microsoft Exchange, or Netscape Mail.
Shell access (a UNIXspeak dialect). You can, for example, read your e-mail with Pine.
Web pages (http://www.river.org/~yourname/) via a publicly-accessible subdirectory of your River directory.

The River is available only via the network. There is no direct dial-in access.

FEES
The River charges $10/month for an account, with no hourly fee. Users are allowed 5 Megabytes of free disk storage. Additional storage is charged at the rate of $1 per meg per month.

NEW USERS : The first two months now include one free month. Sign up, pay $10, and get the second month free!

log in as newuser
using guest as a password.
